Jan Rogala
Jan Rogala holds a PhD in the humanities in the field of Mongolian linguistics. Since the beginning of his academic career in 2002, he has been affiliated with the Faculty of Oriental Studies at the University of Warsaw, where he teaches and conducts research on the contemporary Mongolian language, as well as the history and culture of Mongolia.
He is the author of several dozen publications of diverse thematic scope, including scholarly and popular science articles, as well as translations. He is the author or co-author of several books on Mongolian culture and religion, and the author of the first Polish textbook for learning the Mongolian language.
He has also presented papers at more than a dozen national and international academic conferences.
He is the recipient of awards from the Rector, the Dean, and students in recognition of his teaching excellence. In 2015, he was honored with the Mongolian distinction “Merited Worker of Education” for his contributions to teaching and promoting knowledge about Mongolia. In 2017, in recognition of his overall academic, teaching, and outreach achievements, he was awarded the Medal of Friendship by the President of Mongolia.
